Gallbladder is a digestive order located underneath your liver. It’s main function is to produce and store bile. Bile has several different functions including digestion and absorption of fats. The most common problems associated with gallbladder is gallstones. It is estimated that 20 percent of population over 65 has gallstones.
Gallstones are formed as a result of the bile’s becoming saturated with cholesterol.
Risk factors for gallstones include: Women are two to four times more likely to have gallstones. More common North American Indians, Obesity is a main factor of cholesterol secretion into the bile causing rapid gallstone formation.
Frequency increased with age, Western diet is a contributing factor, digestive issues or gastrointestinal diseases.
Symptoms: right sided abdomen pain with pain radiating into the right shoulder blade or right elbow. Fever, nausea, and vomiting Stools may change for a darker greenish color.
Causes: Oral contraceptives, hormone replacement medications, Obesity, North American Women, Rapid weight loss, Constipation, Western diet, food allergies, genetics, as well as Chron’s disease.
Recommended Food: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, oat bran., flax seeds and Olive Oil You must have 5-7 servings of one or more of these foods mentioned each day.
Foods to Avoid: Fried foods, limit intake of simple carbohydrates and sugars, red meat, apricots, beets, spinach, eggs, pork, beans and nuts milk, coffee, corn. These food caused inflammation of the bile ducts possibly due to your allergic response to them.
Nutritional Recommendations: Bile Salt capsules. Take 1 capsule with each meal to improve digestion, Take 2 capsules of Lipase enzymes with meals to breakdown fats so you gallbladder has less stress. Globe Artichoke capsules-
